Deepo Thomas: Well, that’s a really good question too.
A lot of people have some different strategies on that. What you’re going to want to do is you’re going to want to have a good subject line. And that’s when people are looking through their e-mail accounts, and they’re looking through their e-mail, and I’m sure they’re going to be getting a lot of different e-mails because maybe they signed up to a lot of different lists.
Your subject line is the first item that catches someone. You’re going to want to have something that’s really catchy. And so that’s the first thing you’re going to want to do. And you can even split-test subject lines; that’s something else you can do. If you have a good auto-responding service like AWeber…I can send out to a list, but I can have say 25% that’s going to be seeing this subject line, and so forth.
I can split it up about four different ways. And then what I’ll do is I’ll take the one that wins, and that will become – like, say, if it’s an offer for an affiliate product or something like that – I’ll take the one that wins, and that will go into my sequential auto-responder follow-up series. That’s one thing I do.
The one thing that I do, that a lot of other marketers don’t do, is, in my e-mails, I put images. I use images all throughout the e-mail.
And I’ve noticed that it does a couple things for me: it develops a relationship better with my lead, and it gets a good response. You know, people, in their e-mails they’re seeing a picture of your e-book, so they’re clicking on it.
Now, the downside of it is that a lot of people have their images turned off in their e-mails. So you’re still going to want to have your text in there. Like, with my service AWeber that I use, I can send both out – an HTML message, and if someone’s e-mail account does not take HTML, it has a backup for the text, so I also do text, too. So that’s kind of what you’re going to want to do to get the response in your e-mails.
